UP to Get Largest LPG Dispatch Terminal and Bottling Plant

Kanpur: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) is set to establish Uttar Pradesh’s largest LPG dispatch terminal and bottling plant, a significant step toward ensuring a seamless supply of cooking gas across various regions of the state.

As part of the state government’s efforts to strengthen the economy, BPCL, with the support of Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDC), will set up a bottling plant with an 180 TMT capacity and a bulk dispatch terminal in Rasulpur Lodipur, Sultanpur village, Akbarpur Tehsil, Kanpur Dehat. The project, worth ₹500 crore, aims to enhance the availability of LPG in Kanpur, Kanpur Dehat, and nearby regions.

65 Acres of Land Allocated for the Project
UPSIDC CEO Mayur Maheshwari confirmed the development, stating that a total of 65 acres of land has been allocated for the project. The bulk dispatch terminal will ensure a smooth supply of LPG to eastern and central Uttar Pradesh, including major cities such as Lucknow, Jhansi, Salempur, Bareilly, and Gorakhpur.

Boost to Employment and Infrastructure
The plant will facilitate the easy dispatch of LPG cylinders for both domestic and commercial use. Additionally, it is expected to create substantial employment opportunities in the region. BPCL’s initiative is not only a step toward improving the cooking gas supply but also a major boost to the economic and industrial growth of Uttar Pradesh.

Largest LPG Supply Unit in the Region
This facility will receive raw materials via pipelines from Kandla, Gorakhpur, and Kandla Tank Wagon. The project will be the largest LPG supply unit in the region in terms of capacity, further streamlining the logistics of LPG distribution.

Maheshwari emphasized that UPSIDC is continuously working on creating land banks to attract investments across various districts of Uttar Pradesh. The upcoming BPCL plant in Kanpur Dehat is a testament to the state’s commitment to industrial development and employment generation. The project is expected to significantly improve LPG availability in East and Central Uttar Pradesh, while also driving economic growth in Kanpur Dehat.
